Cost: $20 for the ice cream tasting, $35 for both the ice cream and the tomato tasting. You will not receive a physical ticket, rather your name will appear on the list at the door of the event. On August 22nd we'll be hosting an ice cream fair at New Amsterdam Market! A total of six ice cream and sorbet makers will be there, including The Bent Spoon, Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream, Marlow & Daughters, Roberta's, Early Bird Cookery, and MilkMade Ice Cream. These artisans are committed to showcasing regional products and flavors. Each will create up to three unique ice creams and sorbets for the market that use only seasonal or responsibly sourced ingredients.
With so many great flavors, we know it might be hard to choose just one! This sampler will entitle you to a booklet of six tasting tickets, which you can redeem for miniature ice cream cones in the flavors of your choice.
Proceeds will benefit New Amsterdam Market.

$1 Time Warner Ice Cream Truck is Back

The truck will be in Bryant Park every Monday through August 16th from 4-10PM. They only offer chocolate and vanilla cups or cones- without even sprinkles! But for $1 you really can't complain, or at least you shouldn't, since your money is going to help out local museums.

This Saturday check out Hester Street Fair ( at the intersection of Hester Street and Essex Street) for some exclusive frozen goodies offered for one day only.
Guerilla Ice Cream will be offering Redcoat a spicy cranberry shaved ice with pop rocks and Chinatown Tea Party, a Steel Buddha Tea sorbet with Chinese walnut cookies and fresh dragonfruit.
La Newyorkina will be offering Watermelon Paleta.

Time Warner Cable Ice Cream Truck Donates to Local Museums

Last summer, the truck raised $14,000 for local museums (including Children’s Museum of Manhattan, the New York Hall of Science in Queens, Brooklyn Children’s Museum and Staten Island Children’s Museum) by asking for a $1 suggested donation for ice cream.
To request a visit by Time Warner Cable’s Ice Cream Truck call 877-766-7892.
The truck will be making appearances around the city, and plans to stop in during Bryant Park’s Movies in the Park and Central Park’s Summer Stage series. It's also available for block parties and outdoor public events from July 1 through August 23.

After a 5 year absence, NYC Icy has opened up a new pop-up location, and will tease us all by staying open for only 6 months. But if business is good, expect to see them elsewhere.
There will be 200 rotating flavors, with 20 being offered at any given time. Some flavors listed by The Feed include macha green tea, chocolate-bacon, cilantro-lime and Thai iced tea. Prices start at a very reasonable $2.50
The store should be open now.

Snow cones have hit the dessert menu at Anthos and include custom crafted flavors such as Lemon & Ouzo, Coconut & Cucumber-Mint, Cherry & Mahlepi and Watermelon & Mint.
The snow cones are made by Anthos’ executive pastry chef Erin Burns and will be served in paper cones so customers can walk out with the treats, which cost $3 each.

Frozen Pie on a Stick at Duane Park's Griff’s Gelato

Duane Park's ice cream kiosk Griff’s Gelato will open May 15th, and if the weather is nice enough it will be open on weekends prior to that date.
Gelato flavors include Swiss chocolate, dark chocolate with malt swirl, lemon meringue, sesame brittle, tiramisu, vanilla bean, Devonshire clotted cream with strawberries, and s’mores.
Other items include peanut butter malted milk balls, bubblegum, root beer floats, vanilla-chocolate turtles, and frozen yogurt in the following flavors: blackberry lemon, banana caramel, strawberry, and chocolate raspberry.
Of course, the biggest news is the newest addition to the menu: Griffs will be turning their favorite pies into gelato, freezing them on a stick, and dipping them in a crust. That sounds more then amazing.
